Website Security

Website Security PracticesWebsite security is a highly critical part of your website and an important factor to consider when choosing who to build your website. Undertaking a few extra steps can help prevent costly clean-ups to your site, damage to your reputation and potentially discouraging visitors to your website from coming back!

We put into place a set of actions to ensure that your website data is not exposed to cyber-criminals and help prevent exploitation of websites in any form.

How We Protect Your Website

  • SSL Certificates
Each website we create comes with an SSL Certificate, which helps protect the data collected by your website and transferred from your site, such as credit card numbers, phone numbers and emails. A fairly basic security measure but one that is so important – popular browsers and search engines are, in fact now labeling sites without SSL as being insecure. SSL only protects data in transit, so we’ll take a few further steps to secure your website.
  • Web Application Firewall (WAF)
A “WAF” can block many automated attacks that commonly target small business websites. These attacks are generated by malicious bots that look for vulnerabilities on your website that they can exploit, or cause DDoS attacks that slow or crash your website.
  • Security Plugins
We can install a few different security focused plugins into your website. These will work together to reduce possible entry points available to malicious people. We can further prevent attacks by only installing plugins gathered from trusted sources and collect regular backups of your website, so if your website is hacked it doesn’t take valuable time and money spent repairing infected files.
